Pictures from Camp Navajo!

Postby kanowarrior on Sun Feb 24, 2008 9:04 pm

This was posted on another chat group I belong to. One of the guys with the Canadian unit so there aren't any pictures of us there. Seems I had more friends there than I knew!

I'm pretty sure this was posted by the guy who was with the Canadians and had the ZB26.

Ok, I lied. Look at the fourth picture down of the line up. That's Mayo out front with the white camo helmet cover and the guy in the second row with the white camo cover and snow goggles is me!

Mayo's a picture bunny. He's in another one too with his back to the camera during the briefing. [smilie=imslow.gif]

I never heard Fernie whistling the driving theme from Kelly's Heroes until I played the vid at home...

Chad - yes, we all made it back to Kaliforniastan safe & sound. Thanks for hosting a great battle! The comm and coordination between armor & inf. was superb. And, I have to say you looked pretty spiffy in that black SS uniform. You reminded me of Robert Shaw in the Battle of the Bulge movie. A dead ringer.

Actually, it was a standard German Panzer Army uniform, not SS. The SS panzer uniforms have a different cut and the SS runs on the collar. I only play a mild German Army bad guy of the times who lost 3/4 of his armor before we even reached your lines...at least we were being historically accurate.

I'd be down for making the trek again for a fall event. Would need to spread it out a bit from the November Roberts so we all don't bust our bank accounts. A nice Hurtgen Forest scenario would be nice. Chad, what are your thoughts?
