M1C's had the large D fixed bales. Later they went to the smaller fixed bales found on infantry helmets and also swivel bales. So pretty much any of them are period correct. The D bales suck anyway, they will break very easily which is why they were replaced so quickly.

Ok, M2 helmets are the fixed bale helmets (I have a complete original) and M1C's are the swivel bales.
