Since the rest of you guys are going to already be "in the fight" by the time me and my buddy get to the battle area, we will use one of Dave's maps and fight our way (as displaced glider troops) :) to your position. Radio will help also. Sound reasonable???

Yes, this was Mayo's idea. He is always lookin out for his troops. :) If we are going 327th Glider Inf, would the 101 patch still be correct?

So...since I am flying solo as a glider troop, I was planning on HBTs, 2-buckles, haversack and m26 life belt since these guys came ashore w/the inf. on D-Day. Sound right???? :)

Not good pard. 2 buckles were not out until Late Sept early Oct of 44. No combat boot double buckles please. They are incorrect for this battle. So your impression should be M41 jacket, wool or HBT Trousers (or both if it was cold), wool shirt, leggings, and roughout service shoes. If the HBT jacket was worn, it would be over the wool shirt and M41 jacket to stop poison gas from penetrating your clothing. You can use M1936 suspenders and a musette bag as the Glider troops did use those. It was most common to have a helmet net on also. So, here it the list for Glider riders:

M1 helmet with net and appropriate club marking
M41 jacket
Wool Trousers, HBT Trousers or both
M1937 wool shirt
Leggings
roughout service shoes
M1936 suspenders
Musette bag as a pack
Jeep cap
Garrison cap (for barracks) with Glider troops patch
Cartridge belt or pistol belt
M1 Garand
Bayonet
shovel
When all else fails, Attack!
