During the waining hours of saturdays battle, myself,Wells,Mendoza and Mike O'Conner decided to attack the German camp. While I drove at break neck speed, we made the Germans S**t their pants as we did a WW2 style drive-by twice.
Because of O'Conners sharp eye, he noticed a pissed off German halftrack giving chase so we decided to get the heck out of dodge and I believe we were smoked by the Hetzer with a cannon shot.
During that assault, Wells took out a Kubelvagon and a Medic motorcycle. Nice shooting Randy, you can be my gunner any day.

MaDuce got in her licks as well. Andy as my .50 gunner smoked a 251. It was a glorious sight when that kill flag went up!

Great pictures. I'm so glad you guys had that .50 on the jeep! Boy, I remember hearing that thing rip. Seeing how we were short on MGs in the 2nd Armored and the Stuarts were too busy trying to flank the armor (or being knocked out), it was great when that thing was around.

Great seeing everyone in the field. Sorry I didn't stop by your camp Saturday night to say "hello." I ended up going over the the DRK camp and partaking in festivities there. I think we all did a great job on Sunday holding that hill! Well, until the armor showed up en force!!

I thought you folks had a 37mm AT gun in your unit. I didn't see that at the battle. Was there something wrong with it or was there a decision not to tow it out? This event convinced me that I need to work on getting a working bazooka setup to knock out some of those darned 'tracks!

We had some trouble with our cameras and I opted to field a weapon instead of shooting photos on Sunday, so hopefully my gal was able to get some shots of the Allies in action (she took to the field Sunday behind us). I was just having too much fun running and gunning (even though I typically died within the first minute of any engagement!).

Good job, guys!

Anthony
- the 37mm AT is with the 2ndID, at Holcomb we towed it for them on the back of one of our Jeeps.

Our unit leader had purchased (3) Bazookas, and our engineering depart (Spiggy & Co) are working on a hi-tec system which can deliver it's impact a respectable distance, thereby making the weapon something to be feared, versus those powder-buff bazooka of the past.

PS- In our weapon section there is a thread on how Spiggy is doing.

Let's get one thing straight... I'm fraternizing with a female war correspondant, not German or American Nurses! However, if German nurses happen to invite me to come over and partake in delicious food and crazy amounts of alcohol, who am I to say no to partake on a "good will mission?"

Tim, okay, now that makes sense. Although, I'm surprised they didn't bring it out. What was their turn-out for the event? I didn't see them in the field much. It felt like we had the bigger numbers of infantry on the ground.

Who was the 1st ID guys? I know we don't have a 1st ID in the club... are they RPS members being hosted by one of our units? Did they have fun? (They seemed like they did and we saw them all over the field).

Dave, I had access to a bazooka, but it fired estes rockets and we didn't feel it would've been safe to fire them. I'll check out Spiggy's thread and see what he learns. Thanks! Hopefully next event we'll field more AT capabilities.

On Saturday Morning we had three unit segments, two were in Jeeps and one on foot. But we were connected through the use of the maps and radios. We hike on foot from our camp to their camp. We end up attacking their camp. They were happy to see us, given they were left behind to guard, and for the most part were missing out on the fun.

The 1st ID guys are a RPS unit, and sat behind to guard the HQ. They came out in good numbers both people and vehicles.

The Units and my "guess" at the counts were:

1. 2nd Armor (30)
2. 35th ID (20)
3. 442ndrct (15)
4. 1st ID (10)
5. 9thID (5)
6. 2ndID (10)
7. 45th Field Hospital (4)
8. British Airborne (1) - he fought with us
7. 101st Airborne (2) - they fought with us
8. 2nd Rangers (0)
9. 6669th HQ (0)

On the Bazooka front, we need something on a par with the German's panzefaust, which if aimed has an excellant chance of hitting it's target.

2nd ID had a great time, our 2 Stuarts gave us grief as you know, and Nasty Bitch lived up to her name lol. Our M8 worked beautifully as you also know. Sunday was better than Saturday...as always. Looking forward to January lol but it will be a nice rest.

I'm very disappointed I missed out on talking to the 35th ID vet that came by. I had planned on talking to him in the evening and he had left (I think). But, my girlfriend was called over by him and his son and she got to hear all kinds of stories and took pictures with him. He apparently had a blast and couldn't stop thanking her (in lieu of all of us) for supporting this hobby and keeping the memory of all WWII veterans alive. I hope he is interested in coming out to more events.
