I have a size Medium pair of these:
http://cgi.ebay.com/WWII-New-Red-Cross- ... dZViewItem

These look good and if you buy them (5 pair for $14.97), you can sell the extras to cover the cost.

The issue ones were wool with leather palm. Everyone seems to be out of any but the huge sizes, and they are hard to shoot with them on (I have a pair). The wool liners are good for flexibility of your fingers.

Modern Army wool glove liners work too:

I know of three types of issued gloves-
leather palm
trigger mittens
M43 gloves

another solution would be capture german gloves
Red cross gloves-either real ones, or civil war home front gloves.
You maybe able to get them in OD wool.

For the big leather palms-get a wool insert, then the leather palm, and then a wool sock, when needed drop the sock/leather palm glove, and operate the action with the insert.

The top ones I listed are the Red Cross ones. The second and third are wool inserts. The leather palm ones if they actually fit your hands are difficult to bend your fingers, lol.

"To find out your glove size, measure (in inches) around your hand with a tape measure just below the knuckles. You should use your dominant hand, the right if you are right-handed, and the left if you are left-handed.

MEN'S SIZES
size inches
XS 7
S 7 ½ - 8
M 8 ½ - 9
L 9 ½ - 10
XL 10 ½ - 11
XXL 11 ½ - 12"

Hope this helps

I've had mine for a while and i used them last weekend for sleeping and they really work. My hands were as toasty as if the wife was there keeping my hands warm. :D

Did anyone get their gloves from WPG? I used the sizing chart above and figured my glove size is 10 large but size 10 on WPG's website is XXL. I'm confused. Which do I order?

Tim, Fernie said he already had them, and I just got mine a couple of days ago. They are nice, but stiff, and need to be broken in, mainly the trigger finger. But they are thick wool, sort of like the material a German uniform is made up. I'm wearing to and from work in the car, trying to break them in.

I got a size 9, using the method of wrapping a measuring tape around the middle of your hand. For me a 9 isn't tight or real loose. They are a big glove in general and bulky.

Dude... they're gloves, not rubbers. And remember when you ask that question they are talking about GALOSHES! [smilie=a_happyhappy.gif]
