The parade was a big success, and also included the first event introduction of "Jean" the unit's new Jeep, courtesy of LT Tim Kano.

We had (7) members from our unit, for a great showing. As you can see our unit represented half of the foot soldiers marching on the ground. When you add the men and women in the Halftack and Tank there was about (25) all toll. Walter Edhler was unable to make the parade, so Stan Wolcott from the CHG dressed as George S. Patton Jr.

On Yahoo's main page there is a story about 4th of July and a photo section attached. There is a shot there of us at the staging area and I'm in it... That's Associated Press guys!

It's something like photo number 25. They only keep these photos up for about 12 hours so hurry if you want to check it out.

Tim .. Spiggy. . . . Dam nice finds!!!!!

Spiggy it's good you clipped the pictures and saved them, those dam links get removed months later, sometimes. I took Tim's find and blew it up and clipped the Yahoo-AP verbage.

Mark Avery's Photo went nationwide, here it is in Charlotte North Carolina - Picture No.7 (This one is actually a little larger)

We did look great. A little ripply with drill movements but we can work that all out in time. Tim needs to see what its like to "Drive the bus" as we say in the Marines.

But it was a great parade, lots of energy in the crowd with a good response overall.

....and a Lady came out of the crowd and saundered over to Ron Lane, and gave him a big old hug. He tried to stay in character, but cracked a smile

Don't forget the kids that came out to hi-five Tim or hug him or something, I could only see the movement in my peripheral. I had my vision fixed on Tom Jones's back.

Yes I had kids wanted to high five me the entire route but for the first half I focused on the cadence. After a while I relented as they got more persistent and they all went nuts. Not just kids either, a few were adults.

How about this for the kids
They can be ordered in a variety of packages, which start at $13.00 with a min of (3) or you can buy them by the pound. They used to be expensive because there was a $150.00 set-up charge, but not any more.
