Let's go!

Ok... so far...

Myself
Fernie
Garreth
Richard Bledsoe
Dave Prieto

Maybe

Igor Dubroff
Plus Charles Morfin and his father as AVG Flying Tigers

Sound off if you can make it.

Unfortunately Sgt. Duggan is still recovering from wounds recieved at the PTO battle after the brutal reception the Marines got at the hands of the IJA. So we need to plan this. In the prior post are directions on how to get there and in the CHG meeting notes are more instructions. I don't think I need to go there.

The above mentioned people are going to meet at Fernie's house at 05:early and taking the jeep with us. Only Fernie will be in the jeep during the parade and that will be going with the MVCC group. I will be marching with our guys in the CHG. I will be honest here, I HATE marching but will come out with the unit so don't expect me to do any cadence calls as I suck at it. But hopefully one of our NCO's will be there who can do this. I am more than willing to bet Tom Jones can and would if I asked him to so he may get a temporary field promotion unless somebody else steps up.

The parade starts at 10am. They will probably be blocking off the streets around 9am or the crowd will be getting to large to get thru at that time. It was suggested we show up at 8am at the latest. Since we can't get the jeep to do much more than around 40 mph we are leaving early from Anaheim.

That's it. Hope to see many of you out there.

One last thing. Looks like the weather forecast is much cooler than we originally though, only in the 80's not the triple digits as we feared. But since we are right on the coast it may be even cooler so Wools are ok. HBT's if you think you can't take mildly warm weather in wool, but we will probably line up according to wool/cotton for uniformity. Bring your weapons, leave your ammo at home. Likewise, don't bring the heavies or full packs, you have to carry everything you bring. Fill your canteens and drink when you have to.

That is all...

The parade starting time will be 10:00 a.m. on Friday, July 4. We suggest that all participants arrive not later than 8:00 a.m. at the Seacliff Shopping Center just north of the intersection of Yorktown Avenue at Goldenwest. Since Yorktown is closed, we’ll meet just north of our traditional meeting place at the parking lot containing the McDonald’s and Orchard Supply Hardware. Turn into the parking lot from Goldenwest near the signal at the intersection at the next street north of Yorktown (unnamed street). We will then “convoy” to the parade mobilizing area in period vehicles which will participate (the half track, but not a good idea to ride on the hull of the tank). We are limited to these two vehicles. If you miss the convoy, go to the check-in area at Orange and 7th, where you will be directed to CHG’s position.

Lolz. Sorry Tim. I hang up the NCO Sword and Corporal's stripes when I re-enact. But I'll voice coach and give some pointers to people. I got a damned good command voice with no training on it properly. Lots of the Sgts were impressed when I led a PT session. They didn't think I had it in me [smilie=a_chuckle.gif]
