Need I say more? No worked needed on this baby, it's a turnkey jeep.

Well I can't get a cashiers check till the bank opens on Tuesday, but yes, I closed a deal with the owner. I was going to use the BIN offer, but somebody dropped two bids on it before I could get a call back from the owner which closed down the BIN price. However after a short negotiation they ended the auction and the jeep is mine. I have to pay him then arrange shipping to here.

I have serious plans for this bad boy. Our motorpool just hit three jeeps as planned! Now lets see if we can field all three of them at once! Bob, Randy, your .30's have a ride now. No more hoofing it.

I am checking out a jeep trailer (military, not a flatbed) tomorrow. Might be buying it so if I do we can haul all kinds of gear out in the field.

Pappy, your job now is to figure out what I need to do to get the BAR on the dash mount I bought. I don't see any mounting holes on Emiliy so check out if I need to buy anything to mate it up to the pintle.

Guys, we are well on our way to becoming RECON!

The whole Idaho thing freaked me out. Anyways.

You want to dash mount a BAR? Are we going LRDG? 8) j/k I just hate the idea of not being able to use it on the ground.

How much of the dash mount do you have?
These is what I can find as a complete set:

But if you don't have this piece:

We go nowhere. Though I assume if its a complete mount it has that as well. But there is a spacer for the BAR. But the D38579 mount is made to take either a .30 or a BAR.

But if it didn't for some odd reason... Sarco has the mount:

From the looks of it, you just slide it in to a certain point and then put the pins in to hold it there... But then again the .30 is made to be pinned in through the gun... Maybe that BAR spacer is what is needed.

Thats all I can find out. Still can't find a case of anyone mounting a BAR. Looks like they were more keen on .30's, Vickers, or field modding to a AN-M2 .50 and thats just the LRDG.

I already own the cradle. I don't like the dash mount because I'd have to chop half the glove box lid off. But I might do a step pedestal mount. Not sure yet which one I will do. There are other mounts but they weren't designed for jeeps like the one Boston uses which was suppose to be for an LVT but keeps the glove box intact.

I have seen other BAR's mounted on jeeps. I don't see the practicallity of doing so at battles because of changing magazines. The .30 cal is so much more practical on that but for parades and shows it looks awesome.

Forgot to add, I just bought a jeep trailer as well. One problem we will be facing now is how to transport all the vehicles and the trailer to events. Most events are to far to drive the vehicles there. I know of only two of our unit who have tow packages on their vehicles. I just paid off my van and might look into getting a more substancial vehicle that can tow my jeep to events.

Anybody else out there got a vehicle that can tow a jeep? All three have towbars.

Hmm. Well ya lost me now. But I guess if we have that spacer or maybe there's a way to get it in the cradle without. Maybe we can try the slide method to see if the pins will hold the BAR in...
