Man, that side fill gas tank is a real cosmetic blooper. Nice looking other than that.

Safety first. Then authenticity. Try complying with CA on anything DMV related. Trust me, I have two vehicle licensing headaches going on as we speak. Besides, the price is very affordable.

Did licensing laws change during my haitus too? Are they requiring side fill gas tanks now? I can't tell you what a shock it was to see all the gun restrictions when I got back into reenacting.

I would think jeeps would be grandfathered in. That's how they get around the seat belt law. As long as you get historical vehicle plates.

The seller states:
Fuel tank has been changed to a side fill and was very nicely done. Though not correct for a show vehicle. Also not correct but done for a driver is a 12 volt electrical system with a new alternator. It has the wrong tail lights.

But as Tim point out the "side fill" sticks out.

That being said, Where is the gas fill in a WW2 Jeep?

Under the driver's seat, so at least when the fuel blows up it will be quick and painless [smilie=a_chuckle.gif]

Personally I think the seller of that particular jeep was trying to pass off a CJ jeep as a WWII military jeep and made up all that stuff about it. 12 volt system, side fill tank, yada, yada... totally the description of a CJ. Why would anybody convert a WWII jeep to a CJ when there are so many around and far cheaper than WWII jeeps?

I smell a rat.
