He served three years in the Army in the 40s, then returned to acting after WWII.

We don't have many of the great ones left. He was one of my personal favorites.

That is why it is now up to us to vote, and belong to the NRA.

When I was about 13 years old, my cousin and I were building a tree fort next to a fire road off of Mulholland drive. All of a sudden we have a '72 Sting-Ray vette power-sliding right towards us on the gravel road. Mr. Heston then waved and said," How's it going, Boys." We walked up to his car which was a metallic powdre blue with spoked chrome wheels. He was such a really genuine man.

Later when I did security for movie premiers, I escorted Mr. Heston to his car. He was a class act, which I cannot say for 99.9 % of Hollywood actors.

Lastly, I met him at an investment seminar in which he appeared as a guest/keynote speaker. He delivered a speech about himself which made most people, about 400 or so, cry with patriotic emotion. No wonder he became a conservative icon. He was an icon already to begin with.

God speed, friend, and thanks for being a true patriot like Ronald Reagan.
